BENEFITS OF RENDERING SERVICES IN GOD’S HOUSE (Pt 1)

“I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham's sake.” (Genesis 26:24)

When you come to God’s house to work, you learn three things: How to work for God, how to go to Heaven, and how to live successfully on earth.

It is important that you have a mentor, someone who will always correct you and give you useful advice, whenever necessary, and to whom you will always listen.

Proverbs 11:14 says: “Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.” I went to preach somewhere and after the service, a young man met me and said he suffered a false accusation which sent him to jail.

I don’t know how long he stayed in prison but he was eventually released. After his release, three members of his church donated $10,000.00 to him to start his life afresh.

The day I went to preach was the day they gave him the money. That same day, he gave the money to me, sowing it as a seed. We parted ways, though he took my address.

Two years later, a man, a wealthy clothing merchant, who owned a big clothing store worth millions of dollars decided to relocate to another city.

Also a member of the same church with the man who was wrongly accused, the wealthy man called this young man who sowed the seed and said to him, “I have watched you all these years and appreciate your activities in this church.

I give my clothing store to you. Please take it and don’t pay me any money for now. When you have made sufficient profit, whatever amount you deem fit, send to me.”

Everything started because the man was rendering selfless service in God’s house. His service was what attracted the wealthy merchant to him. Today his level has changed!

Word of Wisdom: Follow me as I follow God in my service to God.

Prayer/Confession: Oh Lord, empower me for your service. Amen!
